Themed events and traditional feasts

Many events showcase the region's winegrowing and fruit-producing tradition, while the historic pageant designed and produced by the association Cléry Son Histoire en Lumière draws thousands of spectators every year.

  • Son and Lumière « The French Revolution : the women's part »
at Cléry-Saint-André, on the last three weekends of july.
The pageant invites the audience to discover a turning-point in French history from a women's point of view. A Republican Banquet is served on certain evenings to get you into the mood.

  • Fête de la Saint Fiacre
at Mareau-aux-Près, on the first weekend of September.
The patron saint of market-gardeners, Saint Fiacre is also the name of the former hamlet from which the modern village grew.

  • Village Market
at Cléry-Saint-André, on the second weekend of September.
Craftspeople, stallholders, producers, antique dealers and a jumble sale in the streets of Cléry.

  • Harvest Festival
at Mareau-aux-Prés (in the Market Hall in the centre of the village) on the first Sunday of October.
Its life influenced by the cycles of its winegrowing activity, the village celebrates the year's grape harvest.

  • Apple Fai
at Cléry-Saint-André on the third weekend of October.
How do you like your apples: crisp and juicy, sweet or tart? Make your choice at the Apple Fair, where you can discover new varieties and enjoy apples in all their forms.

  • Plant Fair
at Mareau-aux-Près on the fourth Sunday of October.
Accessories, tools, decorations, plants and flowers: everything you need to make your garden look lovely and to enhance your collection of flowers and plants.

  • Pottery marke
at Jouy-le-Potier on the second weekend of June.
It is in the appropriately named village of Jouy-le-Potier that the Ardoux Valley Community of Communes invites you to a pottery market reserved for professionals. From stalls in the market square, thirty or so potters offer you their wares, including stoneware, raku and varnished ceramics, as well as giving demonstrations and running workshops for children.
